ALPINE A110 CROWNED OCTANE PERFORMANCE CAR OF THE YEAR AT THE HISTORIC MOTORING AWARDS 2018

  • Alpine A110 claims victory in the performance car category at the prestigious awards
  • The A110 came out on top against a diverse range of competitors
  • Alpine A110 Pure and A110 Légende are on sale now, from £46,905 OTR

Alpine’s A110 has been crowned Octane’s Performance Car of the Year at the Historic Motoring Awards at a ceremony in central London this evening, 25th October.

Beating four other cars to the title, the A110 was praised for its performance and thrills as well as for being the most affordable car on the shortlist.

Speaking on the win for the Alpine, James Elliott, Editor-in-Chief of Octane Magazine, said: “The A110 is truly remarkable in that it has fully embraced lightness and brought high performance sports car thrills to the masses. By far the lowest priced car on the shortlist, this democratisation of the sports car formula offers so much for enthusiasts and showcases an exciting future for the breed.”

Alpine Managing Director, Sébastien Erphelin, said: “This latest prestigious award from the industry for the A110 only serves as more indication to how Alpine has taken the sports coupé market by storm in such a short space of time. We’re proud to receive this fantastic award from Octane and is rightly deserved by all the team involved in the project.”

At launch the A110 was available in the Première Edition trim. All 1,955 examples sold out within five days. The A110 is now available in Pure and Légende trims.

The A110 Pure is focused on the connection between driver and machine and has a minimalist approach. Lightweight, it has 13.1kg Sabelt monocoque seats and 17-inch light alloy wheels. Leather and microfibre seat upholstery combined with a matte carbon fibre interior trim, to hint at Pure’s sporting intent.

Displaying the character of a GT, the A110 Légende is the more sophisticated and refined edition of the A110. Its distinguishing features include six-way adjustable seats in black or brown leather and a lightweight Focal audio system that’s optimised to the A110’s cabin.
